All systems go for the OutDoor Industry Award 2017

Applications for the OutDoor Industry Award now being accepted - Deadline 8 May 2017

Friedrichshafen - Effective immediately, all manufacturers, designers, developers, importers, start-ups, sales organisations and dealers are invited to enter their new products into consideration for the 12th OutDoor Industry Award. Anyone can take part, regardless of whether the company or designer has a stand at the OutDoor 2017, which will be held from 18 to 21 June.

This year, the OutDoor Industry Awards will again be one of the highlights of the flagship trade show’s supporting programme. The vast degree of transparency and calibre of the judges play an important role in ensuring that the OutDoor Industry Award is not just an accolade given to particularly innovative, market-driven and cutting-edge products, but also an effective and credible marketing tool for any award winner.

The deadline to submit entries in this year’s competition is 8 May 2017. After that, the jury of experts begins their two-stage evaluation of the entries by narrowing down all of the submissions to a short list. In the following step, the most promising entries for the renowned OutDoor Industry Award are subjected to real-world testing. In the end only the best receive the coveted seal of approval. "Each OutDoor Industry Award sends out a clear message to industry representatives, dealers and consumers. It indicates a genuine pledge of quality to the market and we place top priority on credibility, transparency and fairness,” explains Dirk Heidrich, project leader of the OutDoor at Messe Friedrichshafen.

The award is presented in thirteen categories: apparel, shoes, running, backpacks/travel luggage, mountain-climbing equipment, camping equipment, sleeping bags, water sports, accessories, innovative materials, sustainable innovation, start-up, and concepts and services. All the prize-winners will receive their awards in a special ceremony and will be exhibited in the Foyer East during the OutDoor. Furthermore, the winners of the OutDoor Industry Award will benefit greatly from a wide range of multi-channel communications activities that Messe Friedrichshafen is initiating to draw the attention of retail, industry and consumers to the award-winning products. These activities and the logos given to the winners for communications purposes will both help boost sales.

The award is organised by Messe Friedrichshafen, with the Deutsche Designer Club (DDC) also on board as a partner. Following positive experiences in past years, the DDC will again chair the panel of judges this year.

Companies from the outdoor industry can submit their new products for consideration effective immediately and through 8 May 2017 at www.outdoor-industry-award.com. More information is available at www.outdoor-show.com.
