HangOut - major theme at OutDoor 2018
Leading trade fair showcases relaxed side of outdoor - HangOut partnership expanded with Scandinavian Outdoor Group (SOG)Friedrichshafen - Outdoor activities have many different aspects - things don’t always have to be "higher, faster and stronger”. A relaxing lakeside barbecue with friends, sleeping out under the stars in a hammock, there are many ways to enjoy the outdoors. The 25th OutDoor show is showcasing this trend in its HangOut area from 17 to 20 June 2018. After its successful launch last year, the HangOut movement is gaining momentum and expanding its scope with new ideas and new partnerships at OutDoor 2018.
"We’ve hit the nail right on the head with our HangOut concept. The outdoor market is increasingly focussing on bringing more and more people closer to nature. These slow living outdoor experiences are what our HangOut area is all about. And we’ve improved it with new ideas and industry partnerships,” explains OutDoor project manager, Dirk Heidrich. The 25th anniversary edition of the trade fair will be showcasing the relaxing side of outdoor with a new display area in the Open Air Exhibition Grounds West. Brands will be showing their latest product innovations for everything from escaping the daily grind to microadventures.
The Scandinavian Outdoor Group is on board as a strong partner to support the OutDoor Plus HangOut initiative. "We’re really excited to organize a Scandinavian-style HangOut, in addition to our nearby and popular Scandinavian Village,” says Sara Wänseth, General Secretary, Scandinavian Outdoor Group (SOG). "We’ll be inviting guests to join us outdoors in a relaxed atmosphere, to chill out and meet Scandinavian brands in the HangOut category. There’ll also be opportunities to test out Scandinavian outdoor tools and cooking equipment. And of course, there will be great Scandinavian food and drinks on offer.”
