Sardinia is an ancient island in the heart of the Mediterranean, which the ancient Egyptians even then called the “Island of Vast Verdancy”. Unspoiled nature, a mild climate and sunny days combined with history, tradition and gastronomy make it an ideal holiday destination all year round. Hiking, climbing and every other outdoor activity is here an absolute privilege thanks to the extensive yet sparsely populated regions both on the coast and inland.

Sardinia is an ideal destination where you can be active and get to know the country. Trekking fans have a huge choice of various routes: these will take you round lagoons with numerous types of birds or along the cliffs of Capo Caccia by Alghero. The rock faces that plummet down to the sea around Ogliastra and Sarrabus with its crystal clear water are also a fantastic backdrop for hikers. On the trails up into the Gennargentu mountains or the Giara Plateau it’s not unusual for wild horses to keep the ramblers company.
Sardinia has all this and much more … a Mediterranean myth.
