So what is a microadventure? It’s close to home, cheap, simple, short and 100% guaranteed to refresh your life. And the point is that you don’t need lots of time and money to meet a new challenge. Adventures needn’t be huge to affect change in you and the way you see the world. Even the smallest adventures will do the trick. All you need is an open mind, bags of enthusiasm and boundless curiosity. Be inspired by Alastair!
Alastair Humphreys is a British adventurer, microadventurer, author and blogger. He has been on expeditions all around the world, travelling through over 80 countries by bicycle, boat and on foot. He was named as one of National Geographic's Adventurers of the year for 2012. As well as the major adventures, Alastair's award-winning concept of microadventures – short, adventurous journeys close to home – encourage people to take practical steps to challenge themselves by undertaking adventures of their own and improving their physical health, mental well-being, and all-important work/life balance. 5 to 9 thinking is an idea that applies to much more than just adventure.
